More Retreat Images

So it's time for some more photos from the Retreat.  Everyone arrived on Friday night at staggered times, but nobody missed out on dinner.  So that was good.  They all got unpacked and busy making a mess at their stations.  Some of us had fun with the goodies in another way!

LOL, we had alot of fun all weekend.  But most of us got down to business and achieved some crafting.

Then the next morning everyone woke to their cooked breakfast that was ordered the night before.

Yes, don't we just look gorgeous first thing in the morning.............nice pj's Deb.

So after some bacon and eggs our fabulous friend Miss Jen Hall got busy taking the girls for a scrapbooking workshop.  Everyone had a great time.

Everyone received cute goodie bags at different intervals (and yep, I forgot to take photos of those!) and really seemed to enjoy that.  And here is Di with a beautiful gift that her friend Lisa (one of the gorgeous owners of Embellees) whipped up for her over the weekend to celebrate her grandchildren (which she is to receive 3 more very soon, how exciting).

Isn't it gorgeous?

Ok, more again in a few days.
Cheers

What a Fantastic Time

Well, our first ever Scrap Alley Retreat has been and gone and I have to say we had an AWESOME time.  All the preparations and planning were well worth the time and from the feedback we received, a fantastic time was had by all.  Over the next week or so I would love to share some photos with you from the weekend and today I will start with the setting up.  Miss G, Deb and I arrived on Friday morning after shopping for food at about 11.30am and got busy making the room shine for our guests.

We hung banners and found that not only was Miss G the tallest but she was also the only one that would go to the top of the ladder.

She also is the clever creative designer of this gorgeous banner we had up to remind everyone to enjoy their retreat experience.  How beautiful is it?

We found these cute ball thingys by Robert Gordon at a local store and they added nice "pretty" detail.
We brought along a small shop just in case anyone felt the "urge to splurge".

We packaged up some goodies into pizza boxes to present to our attendees on arrival.

A bit of ripped fabric, a gorgeous tag stamped with a Unity stamp and a cute name badge to wear.
We placed them all out, along with a lolly cup and were ready for the arrivals!  Bring it on.
I will be back to share more soon.

Jen Hall Class - Sneak Peek

As you may know we are having the talented Miss Jen Hall teaching a workshop for us on Saturday morning at the Retreat.  And we now have a sneak peek to share with you!!  Yay!!  Gotta love a little sneak peek don't cha??

You will need to bring with you a 6" x 4" landscape photo in black and white to go with the page.

And for those of you who sadly missed out on this months retreat, keep your eyes right here on this blog in the next couple of weeks.  As we are in discussion with a different venue for our next one and should have dates VERY soon.

Cheers

Busy, busy, busy

Oh Yes We Are!!  We are packing and prepping and making lists and crossing things off that list.  Phew!  So excited that there are only 5 more sleeps to go.

Emit Photography

Liz Walker from Emit Photography is coming along to our Retreat on the Saturday to take portrait or group shots of our attendees for their own albums (if they choose too).  And she has just launched her new website and I wanted to share it with you cause it is AWESOME.
(click on image to see photo galleries)
Here is what Liz has to say on her new website:

"Hi .. my name is Liz and I'm a natural light photographer and I love to catch the light in the eyes and make them sparkle.
As a mother of four children I know how it feels to be pregnant and I'm still amazed at the beauty and the magic that is creating new life .. and newborn babies are such a delight ... the soft skin and the sweet smells ... just perfect! These early months are so special ... and so fleeting ... these are memories that I want to cherish forever!
I understand toddlers too and I'll do what it takes to get the shot that captures the true spirit of your child.
As children grow and change it is important to capture those family portraits too,I love to capture a moment in time that will be gone before you know it."
And while Liz specialises and loves to take photos of children, families and pregnancies, she is an amazing portrait photographer too.  And we are so lucky to have her come along to our Retreat and offer the ladies an opportunity to have themselves in front of the camera for a change.  If you are coming to the retreat and haven't booked your sitting yet, be sure to email us at scrapalley@gmail.com to do so.
Cheers

Awesome find for the Scrapbooker!

Hi, Georgina here.  Wow these mugs are fabulous.  Both Alex & I have one.

They are lovely to drink from, I sneak my lid off to drink from the real china mug! But with the lid on, my scrap space stays safe from spills.  And the insulated mug means that if I get busy with my papers and glue, my cuppa stays hot longer! I got mine at David Jones, but I have seen them in other kitchen stores.  We recommend them to the scrappy coffee and tea drinker.

Cheers

Weekend Spoiling

Georgina and I are really focused on making the TREAT part of 'Retreat' a big theme at our weekend away.  And with that in mind we have enlisted the expertise of Jodie from Jodie's Essential Therapies to visit us on the Sunday to treat our attendees in a massage of choice for a small cost.  They have the choice of either a back massage

A face Massage

or a Hand & Feet Massage
We are so happy that we can offer a relaxing wind-down on the Sunday before everyone heads home to everyday life again. Don't you think that is great?   Bring on August!!!!!

Preparations Underway

Miss G & I are super excited about the preparations for the Scrap Alley Retreat.  If you are booked in then by now you should have received your email with the information letter attached for you to fill in and get back to us. If you haven't received that email, then please contact us at scrapalley@gmail.com as it means we do not have your email details.

Yesterday we headed back up to Lakeside Guest House to double check details on tables, kitchen details (nope, no dishwasher!  Lucky Miss G & I are experts, LOL) and table layout for maximum room.  We want you all to be comfortable and have room to breathe.  And you will have plenty.
Look who came to visit while we were there.  He was so tame (obviously someone has been feeding him) and happy to be photographed.
Again, we were blown away by the location of this place.  It is beautiful, here is Miss G on the lawn that heads down to the water.
And me on the House verandah.  I can't wait to meet all our attendees on this doorstep in August.

Thanks for dropping by and we will keep you posted on the details as time rolls on.
Cheers

Packaging Pretties

I'll tell you what I love, nearly as much as pretty packaging................PINTEREST.com!!  Awesome site, now I can "pin" all my fav. photos in one place and easily go to where I found them again!  When you are a visual person like I am, it works!

So, what does that have to do with the Retreat I hear you ask??  I have been collecting Pretty Packaging ideas on my Pinterest board and it looks gorgeous.  Want me to share some?

Of course you do!  How cute is this?  A brown bag and a doillie..........and soooooo pretty!

Lollie packages.........yummo!
Or these Yummies!

So many full packaging ideas to look at.  I am so inspired, aren't you?  Let me know if you see any fabulous packaging ideas like the ones above.  I love being inspired.

Cheers,
Alex
